This data base contains the names of all Swiss immigants who arrived in the US via the Port of New York and the Ellis Island Immigration Station between 1892 and 1924.
The list contains the names of roughly 110,000 immigrants. Interpreting the data is difficult, as both the family names and the places of origin in Switzerland are often misspelled. When the data base was prepared for the swiss roots project, every possible attempt was made to reconstruct the correct forms for family and place names. The search facility will show both the original Ellis Island entry and the reconstructed version.
